ASCELA report sheds light on the future of logistics in MENA region

International consulting firm ASCELA has launched the 2025 edition of its ‘Future of Logistics in MENA’ report, providing insight into the key trends and investment opportunities that will shape the market in the coming twelve months and beyond.
The strategic report delves into the dynamic logistics landscape across the MENA region, with a focus on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) economies, highlighting investment opportunities, technological advancements, and sustainable infrastructure developments that are driving growth and transformation.
The authors highlight how the region has over the past decade established itself as a global powerhouse in the logistics transport landscape, serving as bridge between the East and West, while catering to the booming growth of its national economies. Logistics is a key pillar of long-term national agenda’s, including the UAE Vision 2050 and Saudi Arabia Vision 2030.
Looking into 2025, ASCELA identified dozens of developments to watch across the main logistical segments – ports & shipping, railways, aviation, and road transport & warehousing. For each of these segments, the authors shed light on their investment outlook, highlighting initiatives that will see a significant uptake in investor interest, such as technological advancements (for example: artificial intelligence and digital twins) and sustainability (for example: decarbonization).
At the same time, the report cautions industry players to keep a close pulse on the rapid transformation – and even disruption – that is sweeping through the industry.
“The logistics sector stands at a transformative juncture, driven by technological advancements, shifting geopolitical landscapes, supply chain disruption, and an accelerating commitment to sustainability,” said Nivesh Chaudhary, Managing Director of ASCELA and lead author. “This is seeing the GCC logistics industry undergo a significant transformation.”
“Key for leaders in the industry is to keep track of developments and turn challenges into opportunities, sustaining their company’s competitiveness and the region’s strong foothold in the global market.”
