The Commercial Bank of Dubai has launched an enterprise-wide artificial intelligence and data literacy program, selecting Accenture as its delivery partner.

Founded in 1969, the Commercial Bank of Dubai is today one of Dubai’s ten largest banks by assets under management, offering personal banking and business banking services to corporates and businesses operating in the country.

Ali Imran, Chief Operating Officer at Commercial Bank of Dubai, said that the new learning & development program will equip the bank’s workforce with crucial AI skills, at a time when the financial services industry is navigating an era of unprecedented AI transformation.

The so-called ‘AI and Data for the Future’ program will provide staff with insights in artificial intelligence, data management and advanced analytics, with these skills anticipated to enhance the bank’s performance in areas such as customer experience, operational excellence, resilience and innovation.

“This program demonstrates our commitment to delivering value-driven banking that empowers both our customers and the broader UAE community, ultimately providing the Commercial Bank of Dubai with a sharper competitive edge by ensuring our employees are future-ready,” said Imran.

He added that the program aligns with the bank’s stated commitment to contributing to UAE’s vision for AI leadership. In January this year, the Commercial Bank of Dubai announced that it will roll out Microsoft’s generative AI tool (Copilot) to over 800 employees.

“Through these initiatives, the Commercial Bank of Dubai is enabling workplace modernization, fostering a culture of innovation, and setting a GCC-wide benchmark in data and AI upskilling.”

Delivery partner Accenture

The ‘AI and Data for the Future’ program is being delivered in partnership with Accenture, which will support expert-led, interactive sessions through its Udacity platform. Experts of the consulting firm will also host tech talks offering insights on emerging trends and applications in data and AI, and personalised Q&A sessions, courtesy of its 1,400+ mentors.

Max Di Gregorio, Managing Director at Accenture in the Middle East, said: “As banking is quickly moving to digital, businesses that are building their digital core can improve their operations, increase revenue quickly, and improve the services they provide to their customers. This creates real value on a fast and large scale.”

“The Commercial Bank of Dubai’s investment in making its employees digitally savvy will give it a big advantage. We are happy to support this innovative program that helps improve learning outcomes.”
