KPMG has opened applications for the 2025 edition of its flagship Global Tech Innovator competition, offering the most promising technology entrepreneurs in KSA and UAE a platform to showcase their innovations and compete for global recognition.

Now in its fifth year, the Global Tech Innovator competition provides technology innovators from around the world the podium to showcase their services and solutions, gain access to investors, and receive mentorship from KPMG leaders.

The competition is open to early-stage and growth-stage tech entrepreneurs who are building scalable, technology-enabled businesses, with those that have the potential to “transform entire industries and make a difference in the world” accepted into the competition.

KPMG hosts the competition in 20+ countries, including in Australia, Brazil, China, Colombia, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Ghana, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Portugal, Sweden, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In the Middle East, the competition is organized in two countries: Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The winners of the country competitions will represent their nation at the global final in Lisbon (Portugal).

Commenting on the Saudi version of the competition, partner Samer Abdallah said: “We are witnessing a surge in innovation and entrepreneurial ambition in the region. The Global Tech Innovator competition provides a powerful launchpad for startups in Saudi Arabia to gain international exposure, connect with industry leaders, and fast-track their growth journeys.”

Last year’s Saudi winner, Ejari, impressed judges with its ‘Rent Now, Pay Later’ platform, offering a tech-enabled solution that disrupts the traditional rental model in the Kingdom.

Partner Anurag Bajpai meanwhile said about the UAE edition: “At KPMG, we are excited to champion UAE tech innovators through our annual global competition, a platform that spotlights local talent. As the UAE continues to cement its standing as a leading technology hub within the region and globe, we are proud to play an active role in shaping the future of the digital economy.”

Global crown

In 2024, the global competition from the accounting and consulting firm was won by Thermalytica from Japan, recognized for its advanced thermal insulation technology. The first runner-up was Gelatex, a developer of biotechnology-focused nanofiber applications from Estonia, the second runner-up was FluxGen, a digitized water management innovation from India.
