UK-headquartered The Sports Consultancy has been awarded the highly coveted King’s Award for Enterprise, one of the UK’s highest business accolades, in recognition of its exceptional international achievements across the sports, events, and entertainment industries.

Founded in 2006, The Sports Consultancy advises rights holders, governments, federations, host cities and event stakeholders on strategic, commercial and legal topics relating to sport and entertainment.

By receiving the King’s Award for Enterprise, The Sports Consultancy joins a select group of UK-based companies recognised for driving outstanding international trade, growth, and innovation. The Middle East played a large role in driving the firm’s recognition – outside of the UK, The Sports Consultancy has offices in the Middle East and Asia, with a strong footprint across Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

“We’re proud to have delivered high-impact outcomes across multiple landmark projects, and contributing to shaping the sport and entertainment landscape in countries including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar,” said Angus Buchanan, Managing Director and Co-Founder of The Sports Consultancy.

“From advising on world-class host city strategies to shaping commercial rights frameworks and long-term legacy planning, our work spans partnerships with major government entities, federations, and event stakeholders across the region.”

“This award is a powerful recognition of our team’s dedication to delivering excellence at every level. We’re particularly proud of the work we’re doing and we are excited to be playing an active role in the delivery of global-standard events and sporting infrastructure across the Middle East.”

While the King’s Award for Enterprise is based on its achievements to date, Buchanan said that the consulting firm continues to expand its international footprint, with major engagements currently active across Middle East, Asia, Europe and the United States. The current project portfolio includes projects with the NFL, Formula 1, FIFA, World Athletics, and a number of sovereign and city stakeholders.

This year, King’s Awards for Enterprise were handed to a handful of British consultancies, including Q5, which similarly has a growing footprint in the Middle East (alongside North America Asia-Pacific). Both firms were this week named among the UK’s top consulting firms in ConsultancyUK’s annual industry benchmark.
