At the LexisNexis Middle East Legal Awards 2025, law firms of all shapes and sizes were lauded for their excellence in the legal domain, with PwC among the list of winners.
Held for the second time this year, the Middle East Legal Awards 2025 shines a spotlight on the region’s top performing legal firms, teams and individuals. At the gala ceremony held at the Ritz Carlton JBR in Dubai, awards were handed out across several areas including categories for law firms and experts, and categories for in-house counsels at organizations.
PwC, which is best known for its accounting and consulting work but also has a legal team operating as PwC Legal, was named the runner-up in the category ‘GCC Law Firm of the Year’, behind winner Clyde & Co, while its Energy practice was named the ‘Energy & Infrastructure Team of the Year’.
Meanwhile, Amir Kordvani, the leader of PwC Legal in the Middle East, received the prestigious ‘Managing Partner of the Year’ award, celebrating his exceptional leadership. Philippine De Croutte, a Manager in the business, received an honourable mention in the ‘Rising Star of the Year’ category.
PwC Legal works across around a dozen disciplines, including mergers & acquisitions, corporate and commercial advisory, restructuring, corporate governance, fintech, and data privacy. Globally, PwC Legal has a team of over 4,000 lawyers and legal professionals in 100+ countries. Its Middle East business has teams in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Qatar.
While Big Four rivals Deloitte, EY and KPMG also have their own legal businesses, including in the Middle East, PwC was the sole of the quartet to be recognised by LexisNexis in this year’s competition.
