Grant Thornton adds three members to partner team in Saudi Arabia

Global accounting and consulting Grant Thornton has in recent months strengthened its senior team in Saudi Arabia with three new hires.

Appointed a Partner and Managing Partner of Grant Thornton’s Khobar office, Abdullah Al Marshad brings over a decade of experience to his role. He has expertise in audit, tax, and financial consulting and has established himself as a trusted advisor to organisations navigating complex financial landscapes.

A local content specialist, Al Marshad has helped clients drive growth and enhance their compliance with national economic development initiatives in Saudi Arabia.

Throughout his career, Al Marshad held audit and advisory roles with several businesses across multiple industries, including five years at KPMG and roughly three years at local player Al Hamli Co.

Abdullah Al Nader, also appointed a Partner, has over 20 years of expertise spanning professional services, industry, and academia. He has held leadership roles at leading global consulting firms such as RSM and EY, and served oil major Saudi Aramco. At the University of Shaqra he held senior roles and was an Assistant Professor of Accounting.

As Fellow of SOCPA and a PhD holder from the University of Reading, Al Nader has deep expertise in accounting and financial reporting, particularly within the Saudi regulatory landscape. His experience includes advising businesses on complex financial matters, ensuring compliance with local and international standards, and supporting organisations in enhancing their financial governance.

Saad Al Ali meanwhile is a Partner in the Audit business, based in the Riyadh office. He brings with him a career spanning senior leadership roles across professional services, consulting, and governance within both public and private sectors.

Over the years, Al Ali has led several high-ranked roles, including serving as Vice Chairman at Al‑Ostool Al‑Aali Company, building and managing consulting operations as CEO and Managing Partner of Accuracy Home for Consulting, and driving audit excellence as a Financial Audit Consultant with the Saudi Industrial Development Fund.

He is a certified SOCPA (Saudi Organization for Certified and Professional Accountants) professional and also holds a Bankruptcy Trustee License, equipping him with expertise in restructuring and financial recovery skills.
