Global maritime consultancy Moffatt & Nichol expands into the Middle East
Moffatt & Nichol, a global engineering and advisory group for the maritime sector, has expanded into the Middle East.
The new office in Abu Dhabi is the firm’s 10th office in the EMEA region and 18th outside of the US, where Moffatt & Nichol is headquartered (California). Founded in 1945, just months after the end of World War II, Moffatt & Nichol provides engineering and consultancy services to several segments of the maritime industry including ports, marine, offshore energy, and infrastructure.
“Moffatt & Nichol has a long history of working with clients throughout the Middle East, and it is hugely exciting to be expanding our footprint into the region,” said Paul Curwen, who has been appointed as Director of Middle East and Africa.
Clients the consulting firm already has supported in the region span the ports, water, energy, and development sectors, as well as financial institutions. “This move represents our commitment to clients throughout the Middle East, where we’ll bring our global expertise to help drive innovative design in the ports and water sectors.”
The regional business has launched with three core practice areas – water, ports, and commercial advisory – and will draw on Moffatt & Nichol’s global capabilities to deliver projects.
The team office is based on Corniche Road, one of Abu Dhabi’s most iconic waterfront stretches, running along the city’s north-western coastline with views over the Arabian Gulf.
Last month, Moffatt & Nichol relocated its Panama office to a new space. The company employs more than 1,200 people worldwide.
