Dhruva Consultants appoints veteran Farhan Farouk as Senior Advisor in KSA
Dhruva Consultants has appointed Farhan Farouk, a highly respected Saudi tax and Zakat expert, as Senior Advisor to its Saudi Arabia (KSA) practice.
Farhan Farouk joins Dhruva Consultants with 35 years of experience in the world of tax, strongly focused on the Saudi market. He previously spent 35 years with Deloitte, latterly as Head of Tax, before retiring from the firm in the summer of 2025.
“When I look back at nearly 35 years in the Kingdom, almost all of it spent in the tax and Zakat domain with Deloitte, joining Dhruva Consultants feels like a very deliberate and exciting next step in my professional journey,” reflected Farouk.
“I have seen Saudi Arabia’s tax and Zakat landscape evolve from a largely rules-based regime to a far more sophisticated, data-driven and globally aligned framework. This is precisely the phase where focused, high-quality advisory support is most critical.”
Having followed the rapid growth of Dhruva Consultants from India into the UAE and Singapore, and more recently into Saudi Arabia, Farouk said he was drawn to the firm for its “pure tax DNA, entrepreneurial mindset, and the speed at which it has built credibility” in the marketplace.
“The recent majority stake acquisition by Ryan [the world’s largest tax-only firm] reinforced my conviction that Dhruva is uniquely positioned to combine deep local insight with global best practices, technology and scale.”
His mandate
Outlining his role in Saudi Arabia, Farhan added: “My mandate in KSA is clear: to strengthen our tax and Zakat capabilities for Saudi-headquartered groups, family businesses and inbound investors; support clients on complex structuring, dispute resolution and controversy; and mentor the next generation of Saudi-focused tax professionals within the firm.”
Nimish Goel, Middle East Leader at Dhruva Consultants, highlighted the significance of the high-profile appointment: “Farhan’s decision to join us is a strong endorsement of our long-term commitment to Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East. From the outset, our strategy has been to build this region around senior, hands-on experts who live and breathe tax and Zakat, and Farhan exemplifies that philosophy.”
“He brings more than three decades of on-the-ground Saudi experience, deep familiarity with tax and Zakat policy, and a proven track record in leading complex audits, disputes and negotiations with authorities. His role will be pivotal in sharpening our offerings across Zakat, dispute management and high-end advisory, as well as in developing and mentoring our growing KSA team.”
