TASC Group founder Mahesh Shahdadpuri hands over CEO role to Jayajyoti Sengupta
TASC Group, a GCC-wide staffing and HR services provider, has appointed Jayajyoti Sengupta as its new Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds founder and current chief Mahesh Shahdadpuri, who transitions to the role of Chairman.
Founded in 2007, TASC Group is one of the largest players in the Gulf’s staffing and recruitment industry. Today, the company employs more than 300 staff and over 10,500 associates, serving more than 550 clients. TASC Group operates from offices in Dubai, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Bangalore.
For Mahesh Shahdadpuri, who has built and led the company over the past 17 years, the time has come to pass the baton. He noted that TASC Group is in a strong position, with new leadership well placed to lead its next phase of growth and transformation.
That next leader is Jayajyoti Sengupta, who brings more than two decades of international experience in technology and business transformation. Most recently, Sengupta served as a Sales Management Director at Accenture and was a member of the company’s Global Leadership Council, which oversees Accenture’s overall growth strategy and execution across its client groups, service lines and platform partners.
Prior to this, Sengupta spent more than 17 years at Cognizant, latterly as Managing Director for APAC and a member of its global Executive Leadership Team. In this role, he was responsible for leading the business across Australia, Japan, ASEAN, Greater China, India and the Middle East.
Commenting on the appointment, Shahdadpuri said: “We are delighted to welcome Jayajyoti as our CEO at a pivotal stage in TASC Group’s evolution. His deep expertise in AI-enabled, outcome-led partnerships strongly aligns with our vision and will strengthen our impact across clients and businesses.”
Sengupta has been tasked with further cementing TASC Group’s leading market position in talent staffing and recruitment. In addition, the Dubai-headquartered company is seeking to expand its offering into managed services – an area in which Sengupta brings extensive experience from his time at Accenture and Cognizant.
Throughout his career, Sengupta has worked closely with senior leadership teams across Europe, Asia and the Americas to evolve managed services beyond traditional outsourcing, with a focus on value creation, business resilience and long-term strategic partnerships. “We aim to add significant value to our clients through intelligent and scalable managed services,” noted Shahdadpuri.
Commenting on his appointment, Sengupta said: “TASC Group has built a strong reputation in the region, and as enterprises rethink their operating models, there is a clear opportunity to reimagine managed services through AI and automation. I look forward to working with the team to strengthen our capabilities, deepen client partnerships, and support organisations as they navigate the next phase of AI-driven operational transformation.”
