Detecon installs Riadh Marrakchi as Managing Director of Middle East & Africa business
Detecon has welcomed back former executive Riadh Marrakchi, appointing him as the new Managing Director of its Middle East & Africa business.
Based out of Dubai, Marrakchi brings extensive experience in business strategy, digital transformation, innovation, and AI-enabled value creation initiatives. He advises telecom operators, governments, enterprises, and technology players on topics such as new business models, emerging technologies, and performance improvement, including their impact on organisations and operating models.
Over his 22-year career, Marrakchi spent nearly 17 years at Detecon, rising the ranks from Consultant (based in Germany) to Managing Partner of the Middle East & Africa business from 2021 to 2023. Over the past three years, he was a partner at Arthur D. Little, serving as a senior member of the Telecommunications, Information Technology, Media & Electronics practice.
Now back at Detecon, Marrakchi has been appointed Senior Partner and member of the Global Executive Team. As Managing Director of the Middle East & Africa business, he leads client engagements across the region and oversees the firm’s teams in Dubai, Riyadh, and Johannesburg.
“I’m thrilled to have re-joined Detecon. Stepping into this role during a pivotal moment for our region and the consulting industry is both an honor and a responsibility,” Marrakchi said. “I’m eager to work with our teams, clients, and partners to challenge the status quo, push boundaries, and contribute to transformation.”
Reflecting on his return to Detecon, he added: “What excites me most about Detecon is its unique DNA: a blend of strategic, business, and technology expertise, a strong heritage in delivering impactful transformations, and a team full of energy, talent, and ambition.”
On Marrakchi re-joining its leadership team, Detecon stated on LinkedIn: “With over 20 years of international leadership experience, Riadh brings a strong track record of advising and driving impact for governments, enterprises, and technology players. A trusted advisor, he helps clients achieve growth targets, increase efficiency, and transform their businesses in a dynamic technology ecosystem.”
“In his new role, Riadh will lead the continued growth of our Middle East & Africa business, expand our footprint, and further strengthen regional client relationships – supporting our clients and partners in achieving lasting impact across strategy, operations, and transformation.”
Falk Schröder, who led the Middle East & Africa business for the past three years, remains with the firm and will shift to a more client-facing role. “Falk has played a key role in strengthening our regional presence and advancing our business. He will continue to drive growth in the region and further develop our core telecommunications business based on his extensive expertise,” Detecon noted.
Headquartered in Germany, Detecon is the consulting subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom. The company employs over 1,000 people globally, and ranks among the leading consulting firms in the Middle East.
