Oliver Wyman appoints Mona Hammami as Head of UAE business

Oliver Wyman, a global strategy and management consulting firm, has appointed Mona Hammami as Head of its business in the United Arab Emirates.

Mona Hammami brings a wealth of leadership experience across the social sector and international institutions, having advised governments and public sector organizations on economic development, employment, social policy, and large-scale transformations.

She joins Oliver Wyman from McKinsey & Company, where she served as a Partner and Leader of its Public and Social Sector practice. Earlier, she has held senior roles at the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi, Booz & Company (now Strategy&), the International Monetary Fund, and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia.

In her new role, Hammami will oversee Oliver Wyman’s strategic direction, client delivery, operations, and talent in the UAE market. She also has been tasked with expanding the firm’s presence in the landscape. In the UAE, Oliver Wyman operates with offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

“The UAE is a market where Oliver Wyman is accelerating its growth and expanding its presence,” said Pedro Oliveira, Managing Partner for India, Middle East and Africa. “Mona’s appointment reinforces our commitment to investing in leadership that can deliver meaningful impact for our clients and the broader economy. Her credibility with government leaders, combined with her global perspective and deep understanding of how public, private, and social systems intersect, uniquely positions her to lead our next phase of growth in the UAE.”

Commenting on her appointment, Hammami said: “Clients today are looking for partners who can combine strategy and implementation to deliver real change. Oliver Wyman’s agility, depth of expertise, and strong sense of corporate citizenship make it an ideal platform to support the UAE’s priorities and contribute meaningfully to its long-term impact, both regionally and globally.”

Earlier this week, Oliver Wyman also appointed a new CEO, with Ted Moynihan stepping into the shoes of Nick Studer, who has moved on to lead Marsh Risk, another subsidiary of $27 billion group Marsh.
