Ankura appoints Philipp Lemmerz as global lead for Growth and Impact Advisory
Ankura has strengthened its team in the Middle East with the appointment of Philipp Lemmerz as Senior Managing Director in the firm’s Dubai office.
Originally from Germany, Lemmerz has spent many years in the Middle East and brings extensive experience at the intersection of economic policy and private sector development. He advises clients on economic policy, private sector development, development finance, ecosystem building, trade, investment, small and medium-sized enterprises, innovation, incentive design, and monitoring and evaluation.
Lemmerz joins Ankura from PwC, where he was a partner and led the firm’s 25-person Economic Competitiveness practice.
Throughout his career, Lemmerz has helped clients design and implement innovation programs, develop foreign trade strategies, and support foreign direct investment (FDI) initiatives. He has also been involved in significant funding mechanisms, including innovation funds and support structures for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.
His project experience spans multiple regions, including the Middle East, Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Southeast Asia, and Africa.
In addition, Lemmerz brings deep expertise in digital transformation and innovation strategy. He has led strategy execution for the digital agendas of major municipalities, guiding them through complex technological transitions. His work has included the turnkey implementation of public sector innovation programs, encompassing platform design support and the development of strategic partnerships.
Alongside his consulting career, Lemmerz has also served as a Country Manager and General Manager in industry roles, where he was responsible for financial performance, investments, and market development.
At Ankura, Lemmerz will lead the regional and global expansion of the firm’s Global Growth and Impact Advisory practice.
