Telecom executive Imran Aslam crosses to TMT strategy consultancy Analysys Mason
After more than 15 years with stc, Imran Aslam has crossed to one of the world’s leading telecom consultancies, taking on the role of partner at Analysys Mason.
Imran Aslam has over 20 years of experience in the telecom sector, working and living in six different countries: Pakistan, China, France, Romania, Bahrain and the United Kingdom.
After working with Mobilink and Vodafone, and obtaining an MBA from INSEAD, Aslam spent the past 15 years at stc, most recently serving as Chief Strategy and Governance Officer for its Bahrain business. In the role, he played an instrumental role in the diversification of the group from a pure mobile player to an integrated dual-play market leader, followed by further diversification into fintech (including the launch of stc Pay), insurtech, IT and data centres.
He led multiple growth and diversification-focused strategy cycles, leading the development of strategic plans and growth initiatives, as well as their execution. On the transactions front, Aslam spearheaded the acquisition and post-acquisition integration of MenaTelecom, and the carve-out of stc’s fiber infrastructure.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to stc’s transformation from a mobile challenger in Bahrain to a market-leading digital solutions provider,” said Aslam.
“After an incredible journey of 15 years at stc, it is time to move on both professionally and geographically. I’m happy to have joined Analysys Mason as a Partner in its London office, where I will be focusing on helping clients across the Middle East and Europe scale, innovate, and succeed.”
Commenting on the appointment, Rohan Dhamija, Managing Partner and Head of Asia & Middle East at Analysys Mason, said: “Imran is an exceptional addition to our team. Imran brings a strong track record in strategy, regulation and transactions – highly complementary experience that strengthens our ability to support clients on some of their most important growth, investment and strategic decisions.”
