PwC appoints Haroon Ahmed as partner in Restructuring practice
PwC has strengthened its Restructuring practice with Haroon Ahmed, who becomes a member of the partner team.
Based in Dubai, Haroon Ahmed has more than 18 years of experience across restructuring, turnarounds, distressed mergers & acquisitions, independent business reviews, crisis cash management, contingency planning and insolvency mandates. He has worked on projects and cases across the Middle East, the United Kingdom, and Asia-Pacific.
During his career, Ahmed has acted as a specialist advisor, delivering restructuring solutions directly at board level and to executive management and other high-profile stakeholders, including lenders across real estate, retail, oil & gas, financial services, manufacturing, professional services, and healthcare sectors.
His track record has seen him bag a number of recognitions, including being named in Global Restructuring Review’s ‘40 Under 40’ list, which highlights the next generation of accomplished cross-border restructuring and insolvency specialists.
“We are delighted to welcome Haroon to the partnership,” said Antoine Abou Mansour, Partner and Middle East Deals Leader at PwC. “His appointment is another step in strengthening our restructuring capabilities as we continue to invest in our people, expertise and client offering across the region.”
Ahmed joins PwC from Big Four counterpart Deloitte, where he was a partner. Before that, he was head of Grant Thornton’s restructuring practice in the UAE and served Kroll in its Dubai office. He kicked off his career at KPMG, where he spent more than a dozen years in its UK business.
“I’m thrilled to have joined PwC as partner within its Restructuring team. I’m looking forward to working with the team to support businesses through an increasingly complex global backdrop,” he said.
