International consulting firm Uniqus has expanded its presence into Qatar, marking its fourth hub in the Middle East.

The new office in Doha will operate alongside existing regional locations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Riyadh, extending the firm’s coverage across the Gulf market. Globally, the firm also operates in India and the US.

Established in December 2022, Uniqus is a consulting firm offering expertise across accounting, finance operations, governance, risk and compliance, technology, and sustainability. Since its inception, the company has grown rapidly, now employing around 400 consultants and staff and serving a client portfolio of more than 200 organisations.

Jamil Khatri, Co-Founder and CEO of Uniqus, said the expansion into Qatar represents the next phase of the firm’s growth strategy in the Gulf, a core component of its regional ambitions.

“Qatar is critical in our four-market GCC strategy spanning Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman. We are already partnering with several large companies in Qatar, and an office presence lays the foundation for us to scale our operations significantly,” he said.

The Doha office will serve organisations across Qatar’s private and public sectors, including government-linked enterprises, family-owned businesses, and multinational companies operating in the country. The firm will focus on financial reporting, finance operations, internal controls, internal audit, valuations, sustainability, technology, and artificial intelligence.

Market opportunities

Speaking about the opportunity in the Qatari market, Khatri pointed to what he described as a market opportunity. “Qatar is a market with a clear gap in specialist advisory. Our deep domain experience, AI and technology platforms, and integrated global delivery model position us well to serve the market.”

One of the gaps identified through the firm’s pre-market entry due diligence is in accounting and reporting advisory across the market. According to Khatri, large global audit firms often face independence constraints or limited depth in providing advisory services to finance functions, creating an opening for specialist firms.

In addition, Qatar’s highly regulated environment is driving demand for firms with deep expertise in governance, internal controls, and risk frameworks, particularly in areas such as enterprise risk management, internal audit, and compliance advisory. These areas form a core part of Uniqus’ service offering.

Khatri also highlighted digital transformation and artificial intelligence adoption as key growth drivers. Uniqus differentiates itself by combining digital capabilities with deep domain expertise across finance and risk functions.

“Many businesses in Qatar, particularly family-owned enterprises, have ambitious growth plans, but their finance and risk management infrastructure has not kept pace,” added Dinesh Jangid, Regional Managing Partner for the Middle East at Uniqus. “Our Doha office is set up to address exactly that.”
