Following reports which surfaced last month, FTI Consulting has now confirmed its acquisition of Dubai-headquartered TMT consultancy Delta Partners.

Dubai-based international TMT sector consultancy Delta Partners has been picked up by fast-growing global player FTI Consulting, confirming reports which first surfaced last month. Founded in 2006, Delta Partners has an international headcount of more than 200 employees, spread across additional outlets in Barcelona, Singapore, San Francisco, New York, Johannesburg and, since the beginning of the year, Sydney.

“We are delighted to welcome this group of outstanding professionals to our already strong TMT practice,” said FTI Consulting CEO Steven Gunby.

“Over time our teams have had the pleasure of collaborating with Delta Partners professionals, and we have seen the expertise, value and integrity they bring to their clients. Together, we look forward to continuing to deliver for the world’s leading TMT companies.”

As part of the deal, the terms of which were undisclosed, Delta Partners’ co-founder and current CEO will join FTI Consulting as a Senior Managing Director and co-leader of its TMT practice’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment. Font brings altogether more than two decades of experience to FTI, having previously served as Managing Director for Oliver Wyman (at the time DiamondCluster) in the Middle East.

“We are proud of what we have built and accomplished at Delta Partners, and we look forward to continuing our growth trajectory as part of FTI Consulting,” Font stated. “All our professionals are excited to shape the next phase of our journey together and build the leading TMT global advisory services firm. The depth of talent, breadth of expertise and complementary service offering at FTI Consulting will enable us to better serve our global clientele.”

Since its founding, Delta Partners has tailored its business as both a sector and functional specialist, serving the TMT sector with a focus on strategy and management consulting and corporate finance & investment banking. “TMT operators are facing an environment that requires creative problem-solving and a very multi-disciplinary skill set to remain competitive,” noted Font, with Delta said to have been seeking for a strategic partner for several years.

“The addition of the Delta Partners team strengthens our strategy consulting offering and significantly bolsters our business transformation and transactions capabilities, enabling us to establish FTI Consulting as a truly global TMT advisory firm,” said Carlyn Taylor, global co-leader of FTI’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment and TMT practice founder . “Delta Partners brings a wealth of new corporate clients to FTI Consulting.”

Taylor added that together the practices will “achieve a formidable scale to serve any TMT client in the world” via a wide range of services, with the firm noting the addition of around 150 billable professionals, including 21 senior managing directors.

After a period of explosive growth, FTI Consulting has meanwhile built up its global headcount in recent years to 5,500 employees, last year bringing in revenues of $2.35 billion, up by 17 percent.
