BrazilMaha Rashad named head of Simon-Kucher's office in Egypt
Simon-Kucher & Partners has appointed Maha Rashad as Managing Director of its Cairo office.
The international strategy and sales & marketing consultancy first entered Egypt in the summer of 2018, at the time marking its entry into the African continent.
Commenting on the launch at the time, Simon Kucher’s then chief executive now senior partner Georg Tacke said: “Egypt is one of the strongest industrialised nations in Africa and offers enormous potential. We’ll be one of the few international strategy consultancies active on the ground.”
Maha Rashad has been with the firm in Cairo since the summer of last year. She joined the consultancy from Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), where she spent three years in the role of Associate Minister of CIT for marketing strategies. In the capacity, she advised key leaders across the public sector on marketing strategies including campaigns, advertising, international positioning and digital transformation adoption.
Earlier in her career, Rashad served as CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), an arm of MCIT focused on building a thriving IT infrastructure for multinationals and corporates, and promoting Egypt’s interests abroad among policymakers and foreign direct investors.
Leveraging her over 15 years of industry expertise in driving commercial transformation across Middle East and Africa, Rashad now takes the helm of Simon-Kucher’s office in Cairo.
