Three months after launching in the Middle East, Ince Consulting has strengthened its senior team in the region with Duncan Sawyer.

Duncan Sawyer brings over 25 years of experience to the consulting firm, which specialises in finance-focused advisory and merger & acquisition services to the maritime industry. Over the course of his career, he has specialised in asset and corporate finance for maritime and vessel owning and operating companies, acting as an expert financial advisor and consultant to clients across the Middle East, Europe and the United Kingdom.

Sawyer also has experience advising on finance raising and financial restructurings across the maritime sector, as well as broader debt and equity fundraising experience in the private and public market using conventional and Shariah-compliant structures.

Before that, Sawyer spent a number of years at Big Four firm PwC in its Debt and Capital Advisory practice.

Commenting on his new challenge, he Sawyer said: “I very much look forward to working closely with the team and providing clients with the ability to source and access capital for their vessels, and providing practical specialist maritime finance sector knowledge and experience.”

He will work closely together with Knut Mathiassen, the region’s other Managing Director who joined Ince Consulting in October to kickstart the firm’s regional operations.

Commenting on the appointment, Mark Tantam, Global Head of Consulting at The Ince Group and a former Deloitte senior partner said: “I am delighted to welcome someone of Duncan’s calibre and experience to jointly lead Ince’s consulting arm based in the Middle East.
