Firas Haddad joins KPMG's Lower Gulf partner team
KPMG has bolstered its team in the United Arab Emirates with newly appointed partner Firas Haddad, who embarks on his third spell at a Big Four consultancy.
Based in KPMG’s One Central offices in Dubai, Firas Haddad brings over 20 years of experience in internal audit and risk advisory services, all with professional services firms in the Middle East. After starting his career with Arthur Andersen, he then went on to work for EY (which acquired Arthur Andersen in the Middle East in 2001), and most recently PwC for thirteen years, of which the past eight years as a partner.
At the Big Four firm, he led its Business Controls and Enterprise Risk offering with a specific focus on digitisation. His expertise also covers advising clients in setting up and transforming enterprise risk management, professionalisation of the internal audit function, business control, regulatory compliance, financial governance, and outsourcing / co-sourcing of financial and accounting processes.
Haddad now holds a similar role at KPMG, where he is a partner in its Internal Audit & Risk Compliance Services team. His focus is on clients in the government, public sector, tourism & hospitality, aviation and economic development sectors, as well as on large family business dispersed across the region.
A Certified Public Accountant by background, Haddad is a Certified Information Systems Auditor, a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and a member of Information Systems Audit and Controls Association.
The hire continues a raft of senior appointments at KPMG Lower Gulf over the past months, on the back of a 5-strong addition to the partner team late last year.
In the Lower Gulf, KPMG has four offices, three in the United Arab Emirates and one in Oman.
