Igor Corelj joins HKA’s Middle East Expert team as Director
Global specialist consulting firm HKA has strengthened its team with Igor Corelj, appointed a Director in the firm’s Expert practice in Dubai.
Igor Corelj joins the consultancy from Blackrock Expert Services, where he worked for six years, latterly as an Associate Director and Quantum Expert. Earlier in his career in the Middle East (Corelj has been based in the region since 2009), he served EC Harris, Lebanese-origin Al Jaber & Makhlouf and Croatian construction company Konstruktor.
During this period, Corelj gained experience including on-site contracting, commercial management of large infrastructure projects at head office level and consultancy services at all stages and aspects of the project lifecycle.
A Structural Engineer by background and a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, he has acted as a quantum expert on several occasions and has assisted on numerous complex engineering and construction arbitration matters, including attendance at multiple hearings.
With over 1,000 consultants worldwide, HKA is one of the larger consultancies dedicated to providing expert dispute resolution and risk mitigation services within the capital projects and infrastructure sector. “Igor’s experience and expertise in dealing with high-profile quantum disputes in the region will be greatly valued by the team,” said Michael Tonkin, a Partner at the firm.
Commenting on his new challenge, Corelj said, “I am excited to join HKA’s well established and ambitious expert team. My career aspirations perfectly match those of the HKA business, and I am indeed looking forward to jointly achieving them through many great opportunities in the region, and beyond.”
In the Middle East, HKA has five offices – in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Manama and Muscat. The regional division is led by the duo Jad Chouman and Haroon Niazi.
Earlier this year, HKA promoted Dubai-based forensic expert Bill Haggart to partner.
