Andreas Skopal joins Synpulse as global digital banking leader
Former EY partner and banking veteran Andreas Skopal has joined specialist financial services consultancy Synpulse as global head of its Digital Banking practice.
Andreas Skopal brings over 20 years of consulting, industry and technology experience to the international consulting firm, which has around 600 consultants and staff working from 10+ offices in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Appointed a partner, Skopal will lead the firm’s digital banking offering – one of the firm’s larger areas of services. This unit helps banks along the entire digital value chain; from the development of digital strategies and their operative realisation, to technical implementation and hand-over to the standing business. The practice partners with many of the globe’s leading software vendors to the banking sector.

Having been based in the Middle East for some five years now, Skopal is a familiar face in the regional banking scene. Most recently, he was the inaugural Group Chief Digital Officer at Gulf International Bank, leading the bank’s digital value propositions, practices, organisation and innovation agenda across the various business lines including retail, corporate, small businesses, transaction banking and investment banking.
Prior to that, Skopal was a Partner at EY based in Dubai, leading the market segment for digital financial services across all service lines of the firm (Consulting, TAS, Assurance, Tax). Earlier in his career, he spent over a decade with PwC Consulting in Asia and Australia, having started his career at Accenture. In between his earliest consulting stints, Skopal spent three years with ANZ.
