The Zubair Corporation agrees partnership with MTI Consulting
One of Oman’s largest conglomerates, The Zubair Corporation, has signed a partnership with international management consulting boutique MTI Consulting.
Established in 1967 by Mohammad Al Zubair, The Zubair Corporation (which then operated as Muscat Trading Company) has grown from small shop in the old souq in Muscat into one of Oman’s leading groups of companies. Today, The Zubair Corporation employs thousands of employees working in 60 subsidiaries active across a range of sectors.
The collaboration with MTI Consulting is part of the company’s corporate sustainability agenda, in particular the pillar focused on helping small and medium businesses in Oman with achieving growth and making an impact in society.
Launched in 2014, Zubair Small Enterprises Centre (Zubair SEC) is a non-profit centre of excellence that “provides and inspiring, supportive and professional environment for young Omani entrepreneurs wanting to establish and accelerate sustainable businesses,” explained Said Al Sahib, Director of Zubair SEC.
“We believe that our collaborations with MTI Consulting will enable us to better achieve our objectives,” he added.
MTI Consulting is a boutique management consultancy with a track record of over 680 projects since its inception in 1997. The consulting firm is mainly active in Asia, the Middle East (through an office in Bahrain) and Africa, although it works with alliance partners worldwide for a global reach.
“We have had a strong presence in the Middle East since establishment and we look forward to working with Zubair SEC to support the development of businesses in the Sultanate,” said the CEO of MTI Consulting, Hilmy Cader.
Now owned by the second generation of the Zubair family (Mohammad Al Zubair’s seven children), the conglomerate also backs the Bait Al Zubair Foundation, a non-profit committed to preserving and advancing Oman’s heritage, culture and art. Established in 2005 to manage the Bait Al Zubair Museum and other projects relating to culture, arts and heritage, the institution is currently the largest privately funded culture foundation in Oman.
