BrazilOliver Wyman launches graduate consultant program in Abu Dhabi
Global management consulting firm Oliver Wyman has launched a consultant development program for graduates in Abu Dhabi.
The new ‘Consultant Development Program’ is designed to prepare graduates for a career in consulting, and builds on the success of a similar program Oliver Wyman has been running in Saudi Arabia for a number of years.
The curriculum combines formal and on-the-job training across both core consulting and interpersonal skills with the opportunity to work with Oliver Wyman colleagues on some of the most challenging projects in the industry.

We want to encourage candidates to roll up their sleeves and experience consulting right from day one,” explained Adel AlFalasi, Head of Oliver Wyman’s Abu Dhabi office.

Based on the firm’s experiences with the program in Saudi Arabia, Sammakieh added “candidates gain the foundational toolkit to build a successful career in the consulting industry or beyond.”
Upon completion of the year-long program, candidates receive a certificate at an official ceremony. Top performers will be provided an official offer to join Oliver Wyman in Abu Dhabi as a Consultant.
Meanwhile, for Oliver Wyman, the program aligns with the firm’s commitment in the UAE to boost the number of Emiratis in its ranks. “Our aim is to help stimulate increased interest in the number of Emiratis who want to enter the private sector,” said AlFalasi.
In the UAE, Oliver Wyman has offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Globally, the $2 billion consulting company has over 5,000 consultants and staff working from 50+ offices.
The Consultant Development Program
1st month
This initial stage will help familiarize you with what is to come. It will also give you a sense of the structure of the program. During this time, you will also be trained in PowerPoint, Excel, slide writing, analysis, presenting, and communication.
2nd-5th months
During this period, you will be exposed to actual project work. This stage will also comprise both team work and training.
6th month
At this time, you will be assessed through a mid-program performance review, and only successful candidates will remain in the program. Those leaving Oliver Wyman at this stage will receive a certificate confirming your trainings and achievements.
7th-12th months
This stage will also comprise both team work and training. Once completed, you will receive your certificate at an official ceremony. Top performers will get an official offer to join Oliver Wyman as a Consultant.
Programs for graduates
Oliver Wyman’s program launch comes shortly after rival McKinsey & Company launched its Forward learning program for Middle East youth, with Sia Partners also recently joining the growing number of consultancies in the region establishing specialist programs for homegrown talent.
