Regional engineering consultancy WME joins global player Egis

Dubai-headquartered engineering consulting WME has joined forces with Egis, a global player in the landscape.

In its third deal in 2022, Egis has acquired WME for an undisclosed sum. The deal follows an early-year acquisition in Hong Kong (Sunland, 130 staff) and one closed last month in the Netherlands (Nebu Transport Services, 10 staff).

The addition of WME significantly bolsters Egis’ footprint in the Middle East, with the majority of the firm’s 550 employees working across the region. WME also has offices in the United Kingdom, India and Singapore.

Founded just 10 years ago by Peyman Mohajer, WME is an engineering consultancy specialised in the design and delivery of projects in the built environment. The firm’s offerings comprise civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, technology and IT security, architect of record and infrastructure engineering services.

Among the notable developments the firm worked on in the Middle East include Solitaire Mall in Jeddah, several pavilions at the Expo 2020 in Dubai, and the W Hotel and Nikki Beach Hotel & Resort in Dubai.

Egis has around 17,000 employees working from 19 offices worldwide. The group generates more than €1 billion in revenues.
