Roberto Prioreschi oversees Bain & Company’s Middle East business
Bain & Company’s Middle East division, which is led by the Belgian Tom De Waele, has a new regional leader: Roberto Prioreschi.
The Italian, who has been with Bain & Company for 27-years, has been appointed head of the Southern Europe, Eastern Europe and Middle East division, effective the beginning of July.
Making the step up from regional leader for Italy and Turkey, Prioreschi now oversees an area with over 1,900 consultants and staff working from offices in 10 cities, including Bain & Company’s three offices – Doha, Dubai and Riyadh – in the Middle East. In his latest roles, Prioreschi led both Bain’s Italian and Turkish divisions through strong growth. When he took office in 2018 the Italian outfit had around 390 partners and consultants, today Bain’s Italian outfit has close to 550 partners and staff operating from its offices in Rome (launched in 1991) and Milan (established in 1989). Prioreschi also oversaw Bain’s 2021 acquisition of local data science boutique Pangea.
Meanwhile, in Turkey, the Istanbul office (which opened in 2012) enjoyed “large performance gains” since Prioreschi took over end responsibility, said Domenico Azzarello, Regional Managing Partner of Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Bain & Company.
“Roberto is a truly strategic leader who exemplifies the ‘best of Bain’ and this is reflected in his appointment to this pivotal and strategic position for our firm,” stated Azzarello.
Commenting on his new challenge, Prioreschi said. “I’m proud to be able to continue my path with new responsibilities. Our SEMEA geographical area has the aim of creating powerful synergies, drawing on the cultural and business distinctiveness and diversity of its different markets, and amplifying the support we can offer to our clients and customers in redefining new standards in meeting the challenges they face.”
Speaking of the leadership appointment’s impact on the Middle East team, Tom De Waele, Managing Partner at Bain & Company in the region, said: “Roberto can bring his wealth of experience to the Middle East. His expertise and leadership will enable us to foster the distinctiveness of each geography while enabling them to team up across the markets to bring new solutions to our clients.”
“I am confident that Roberto will add significant value to our Middle East team in his new role.”
Prioreschi succeeds Dale Cottrell, and in turn is being followed up in Italy by Pierluigi Serlenga, 20+ year company member of Bain & Company. The Istanbul office is currently led by Gözde Yalazı Özbek.
