Global procurement and supply chain provider GEP has expanded its presence in the Middle East with the launch of a new office in Abu Dhabi.

Headquartered in the United States, GEP provides supply chain services and software to Fortune 500 and Global 2000 enterprises. The company positions itself as an end-to-end player, delivering strategic supply chain and procurement consultancy as well as managed services (GEP currently oversees $300 billion in annual spend) and software solutions.

GEP has been active in the Middle East for over a decade, mainly serving clients in the aviation, consumer goods, energy, financial services and oil & gas sectors.

GEP launches an office in Abu Dhabi

As GEP aims to meet growing demand for its services in the region, the company has opened a new locale in Abu Dhabi. “Global companies are increasingly turning to the Middle East for a wide variety of components, materials and services as well as energy, to build more reliable global supply chains,” said Abdel Halim Ahmed, a regional leader at GEP.

“We aim to become an essential hub for GEP’s global clients sourcing suppliers across this region and a preferred partner for leading Middle Eastern companies transforming their global procurement and value chains,” he added.

The firm’s 24th office worldwide will according to Ahmed provide GEP’s full range of services and solutions (including GEP SMART for procurement and GEP NEXXE for supply chain).

In June, Italian national flag carrier ITA Airways (formerly Alitalia) selected GEP as its partner for a major digital procurement transformation. Meanwhile, in the US, GEP was recently selected by Eliant Inventory Solutions (a joint venture between Apollo, Athene and BNP Paribas) as its exclusive partner for supply chain and procurement services.
