Waleed Abdel-Fattah new MENA president of Hill International

Global construction consultancy Hill International has appointed Waleed Abdel-Fattah as its new President for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

In the role, Abdel-Fattah leads the strategic direction of the US-headquartered construction consultancy and project manager in the MENA region, as well as its entire operations spanning client management, innovation, talent, and more.

Globally, Hill International has over 100 offices across 40+ countries. In MENA, the group has 14 offices, with Abdel-Fattah operating out of the Cairo hub. Abdel-Fattah is an Egyptian national, and a graduate of Ain Shams University.

Abdel-Fattah brings 30 years of experience in the construction and capital projects sector to the role, the past 15 of which with Hill International. His experience spans airports, hotels and resorts, real estate, residential developments, retail facilities, and major infrastructure projects.

Most recently, Abdel-Fattah served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Africa. In the role, he led the Africa unit through a period of strong growth, driven by expansion into several new market sectors (particularly infrastructure development). He also oversaw the successful execution of several landmark projects in Africa.

Commenting on the appointment, Raouf Ghali, the CEO of Hill International said: “Given his outstanding track record, promoting Waleed into this new leadership position was an easy decision. I look forward to seeing how he continues to grow Hill International’s business in the MENA region.”

Notable projects Hill International is currently working on in MENA include: supporting the Dahiyat Al-Fursan Development by Saudi Arabia’s National Housing Company, providing construction management services for a new university hospital in Jordan (330 beds), and supporting the delivery of the Grove and Al-Reeman mega-developments in Abu Dhabi.

Hill International (3,200 employees worldwide) is a division of Global Infrastructure Solutions, which purchased the company in August last year. Global Infrastructure Solutions has around 8,500 employees worldwide.
