A group of around 20 talents have been admitted into the first 2023 class of KPMG’s Hussain Kasim Internship Program in Bahrain.

Named in honour of Hussain Kasim, the co-founder of KPMG in Bahrain, the program helps selected students gain insight into the different fields KPMG operates in – audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory – and provides them with practical work experience alongside their studies.

“The program provides talents with a solid foundation and launchpad for successful careers in the future,” said Kasim, who co-founded KPMG’s Bahrain wing together with university friend Jassim Fakhro.

Across several cohorts, the Hussain Kasim Internship Program will in 2023 select and accommodate 50 - 80 young professionals who are pursuing their university qualifications. Analysis of the program’s alumni shows that a significant share of young talents (between a quarter to one third) are – upon completion of the program – offered a full-time role at KPMG.

In Bahrain, KPMG is one of the largest and most well-known professional services firms. The company has over 380 practitioners and staff, 60% of which are Bahrainis.

Meanwhile, fellow co-founder Jassim Fakhro also has a namesake career growth program – the Jassim Fakhro Professional Development Fund program. This program supports local talent working at KPMG in Bahrain with completing their professional accreditation in their respective fields.
