BrazilAlastair Gray joins Abu Dhabi office of HKA as partner
Global consulting firm HKA has welcomed a new partner to its leadership team in Abu Dhabi: Alastair Gray.
A Chartered Quantity Surveyor and qualified adjudicator with extensive experience in the resolution of disputes, Alastair Gray brings 25+ years of experience in consulting and the construction industry to the firm.
For the past 15 years, Gray has been operating out of the United Arab Emirates, working extensively throughout the region, across all segments of the construction industry including power, energy, infrastructure, built environment, and oil & gas.
During this time, he has been appointed to act as expert witness relating to quantum matters on many occasions and has undergone cross examination in arbitral and adjudication proceedings with values in excess of $2 billion. He has also been appointed to provide independent expert determinations across a range of industries, coupled with experience in other forms of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and conciliation.

Gray joins HKA from FTI Consulting where he was Managing Director for two years, primarily acting as a quantum expert in disputes throughout the region.

According to fresh research by HKA, major construction projects in the Middle East run the highest risk of overruns in costs and delivery, with claims on derailed projects now averaging $154 million per project. This is where HKA’s expertise comes in: the firm helps players optimise their projects upfront through good governance and risk mitigation, and if things do go wrong down the line, with dispute resolution.
