Mohammed Alghamdi crosses from consulting to cyber technology

After a decade in management consulting, Mohammed Alghamdi has switched industry. Per the 1st of September, he leads Resecurity's business in Saudi Arabia.

A global cybersecurity solutions provider, Resecurity helps governments and law enforcement organisations with protecting their digital assets. The firm’s software platform provides endpoint protection, risk management, and cyber threat intelligence.

The US-headquartered company has nine offices worldwide, including three in the Middle East: Cairo, Amman, and Riyadh. Alghamdi has now been installed to lead the latter office, which according to Resecurity CEO Gene Yoo has strong growth ambitions for the coming years.

“We are poised to expand our presence in Saudi Arabia, further contributing to the security and resilience of the nation’s critical infrastructure in accordance with Saudi Vision 2030, a program that aims to achieve the goal of increased diversification economically, technologically, socially and culturally, in line with the vision of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman,” Yoo stated.

Resecurity (founded: 2017) has been active in Saudi Arabia for a number of years. In 2022, the firm opened up an R&D centre in Saudi Arabia focused on security innovations for smart cities and cognitive surveillance technologies. Over the past period, the firm also invested heavily in partnerships with cybersecurity consultancy firms and managed security services providers in the region. 

In the Kingdom, Resecurity focuses on government organisations including ministries, law enforcement and national security, and companies in the aerospace and defence verticals.

Alghamdi career includes notable tenures at tier-1 global consulting firms. He spent eight years at Booz Allen Hamilton, where he climbed the ranks to Senior Consultant. Following a short stint at Oliver Wyman in Qatar, Alghamdi then spent a year at Bain & Company in Riyadh, focusing on business support and government relations.
