Sabimir Sabev joins Roland Berger's partner team

Roland Berger has appointed a new leader of its Restructuring, Performance and Transaction practice in the Middle East: Sabimir Sabev.

The new partner and practice leader brings over 25 years in industry and advisory experience to the strategic player, the last 15 years of which he spent in the consulting industry.

Sabev has experience across diverse sectors such as oil & gas, manufacturing, automotive, utilities, consumer goods, and construction, with his clients stretching all corners of the globe – from Europe and North America to the Middle East and Oceania.

At Roland Berger, he leads a practice that advises clients on three areas of business. The Restructuring service line helps clients in financial distress with refurbishing their business fortunes. Key offerings include stabilising the business during a period of decline, cash and working capital management, financial and operational restructuring, and in the worst-case scenario – selling off (part of) the business and overseeing administration.

The Performance service line focuses on performance improvement work, including operational excellence and cost optimisation, while the Transaction team provides deals support to buyers and sellers. In the M&A space, Roland Berger typically operates as a strategic advisor and due diligence specialist (commercial/operational) to corporates and financial sponsors. The firm also advises around post deal integration topics, such as value creation and integration.

Throughout his career, Sabev has gained expertise with all three facets of the practice, making him an ideal candidate to lead the wing, said Hani Tohme, Managing Partner at Roland Berger in the Middle East.

Prior to Roland Berger, Sabev worked for a global management consulting firm, the strategy arm of a Big Four firm, and a global research provider. He also held roles in corporate development roles and served an oil major.
