International consultancy Detecon has appointed Björn Menden as General Manager of its operation in Saudi Arabia.
With offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Istanbul and Cairo, Detecon is one of the Middle East’s leading providers of management and technology consultancy services. Globally, the Germany-headquartered firm has over 1,100 staff delivering projects to clients in 100+ countries across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas.
Installed to spearhead the firm’s growth in Saudi Arabia is Björn Menden, a 20-year company veteran and the Managing Partner of the Middle East & Africa division (which also includes Johannesburg alongside the five MENA hubs).
During his career at the consulting firm, Menden has worked at Detecon’s offices in Germany and spent three years in the firm’s Johannesburg office. In early 2020 he was installed as Head of the Middle East and Africa region, based out of Dubai.
Under his leadership, Detecon has significantly grown its operation in the region. Today, the consultancy works for clients in sectors including automotive, healthcare, pharma, manufacturing, travel, transport, logistics, as well as telecommunications and government – its two powerhouse verticals worldwide.
A graduate of Marburg University (Germany) and Toyo University (Japan), Menden is the author of numerous publications on topics spanning digital transformation, human resources, reorganisation, and transformation.
Founded in 1977, Detecon is a subsidiary of T-Systems, which in turn is part of Deutsche Telekom, a telecoms and digital infrastructure giant with revenues of over €114 billion in its latest financial year.
