Saudi Arabian government services provider Takamol and global management consultancy Oliver Wyman are joining up their offerings in the field of behavioural insights advisory.

Leaders of Takamol and Oliver Wyman said in a joint statement that the collaboration between the two companies will provide the region with unparalleled expertise in behavioural insights.

Combining psychology, economics, and other social sciences, behavioural insights is a growing field of thought that helps improve decision-making processes and encourage positive behaviour change. The field is particularly popular in the public domain, with governments using the approach to improve citizen and service outcomes.

For example, the United Kingdom is using behavioural insights to enhance health outcomes and transition to a more value-based healthcare system, while in Australia, behavioural insights ae driving improvements in road safety. Closer to home, in Dubai, behavioural insights have been applied to improve policy-making across government departments.

“Through our extensive work in the field, Oliver Wyman has observed just how tangibly behavioural insights programs can bolster public sector offerings and policy approaches – in terms of both better outcomes and improved data and insights,” said Matthieu de Clercq, a partner at Oliver Wyman.

Headquartered in New York, and with a presence in four Middle East cities, Oliver Wyman is one of the world’s leading strategy and management consulting firms (revenues: $2.8 billion). Its behavioural insights offering is led by its Public Sector & Policy practice.

Established in 2013, Takamol supports government, semi-government, and non-profit organisations with the conception and delivery of labour market and socio-economic development services and projects. The 500-person company also provides digital services and solutions for streamlining and automating processes, standards and regulations for quality management, and training for upskilling talent.

“Working closely with Takamol in the behavioural insights field will allow us to offer best-in-class service that will deliver impact to our clients. Drawing on our credentials in this space, together we will be able to deliver deeper expertise, local market know-how, and greater impact,” said De Clercq.

Takamol and Oliver Wyman will also bring together their digital expertise, including AI-powered intelligence and data analysis.

“By combining our track record and approaches, significant impacts can be achieved in a cost-effective way, enabling the public sector to unlock efficiencies when approaching policy programs,” said De Clercq.
