The Middle East welcomes a new consulting firm. Launched by Nivine Issa, Terra Nexus is an environmental consultancy that supports clients in the built environment with enhancing their sustainability footprint.

Following nine years at engineering and advisory firm AESG, Nivine Issa has launched her own venture with the aim to “fill a gap in the market”, according to the founder.

“With everything that’s happening in the region, the transformation and unprecedented focus on sustainable development, net zero plans and environmental targets, there has never been a better time for a new player in the market. Our aim is to help bring environmental excellence in the region to new heights.”

Issa has 13 years of consulting experience in the Middle East, United Kingdom, and Southeast Asia. Her most recent role was as partner and global director of environment at AESG, where she built a multidisciplinary environmental team. She has lived and worked in Dubai for the past decade, having previously worked in her native Lebanon.

Throughout her career, Issa has worked in the environment consultancy sphere on some of the most iconic projects in the region, including in the construction, infrastructure, residential, and waste management sectors. In 2022, she was recognized as ‘Female leader of the Year’ by industry publication Construction Week Middle East.

In terms of offerings, Terra Nexus will offer environmental impact assessment, planning, design, ecological and waste management services, focusing on the built environment and infrastructure sectors. Its initial focus will be on projects in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.”

“At Terra Nexus, we are guided by the principle of ‘Building with Nature’, which embodies the comprehensive standards of sustainable development on a quest to achieve equilibrium between anthropogenic development and the natural environment. Our unique service offering will support developers, architects, engineers and planners throughout their development’s lifecycle.”

Terra Nexus has hit the ground running, said Issa, with an initial team of five members brought on board, complemented by a network of associates and experts. “We combine our extensive local understanding with scientific expertise, innovative thinking, and an integrated approach to deliver practical and effective solutions.”
