Abdulelah AlBarrak joins Oliver Wyman’s partner team in Saudi Arabia
Oliver Wyman has boosted its team in Saudi Arabia with Abdulelah AlBarrak, who has joined the global consultancy firm as a partner in its Public Sector & Policy practice.
Abdulelah AlBarrak brings over a decade of experience to Oliver Wyman, gained in the consulting sector and as an entrepreneur. Throughout his career, he has worked on numerous national economic development strategies, sectoral restructuring, data and AI programs, and digital transformation initiatives within Saudi Arabia’s public sector.
AlBarrak’s expertise extends across diverse public sector domains, including government efficiency, human resources initiatives, asset management, investment advisory, culture, tourism, and entertainment.
“I'm always interested in being part of work that matters, and I believe public service work is truly meaningful,” he said.
Over the past ten years, Abdulelah worked for Accenture in its Strategy & Consulting business, climbing the ranks in a fast-track from Analyst to Managing Director & Partner. In recent years, he played a driving role in helping Accenture advance its presence in the public sector domain.
Abdulelah has overseen more than 45 consulting projects, including strategic transitions, building operating models and implementation roadmaps for large government ecosystems, setting up and implementing organisational structures, and devising data and artificial intelligence strategies.
Asked why he decided to remain in the consulting realm, he said: “Saudi Arabia is currently undergoing an unprecedented level of transformation, and consulting is very relevant in this process – we are able to look at large ambitions and growth plans and provide tangible solutions and roadmaps. It requires out-of-the-box thinking and keen problem-solving, which is incredibly exciting.”
Welcoming the new partner to its ranks, Oliver Wyman stated: “Our Saudi Arabia office is poised for even greater success and innovation as we welcome Abdulelah. who brings extensive experience working on flagship projects in the nation. We look forward to the significant contribution he will make to this exciting region.”
A Saudi role model
Alongside his client work, AlBarrak looks forward to continuing his work as a mentor of young Saudi nationals. With the government’s Saudization program seeking to lift the share of nationals in the consulting workforce to 40% by the end of this year, AlBarrak’s contribution in the space will be warmly welcomed by Oliver Wyman.
“I’m passionate about supporting the growth and development of my fellow Saudi nationals, and externally, sharing the amazing potential of a career in consulting,” he said. “We’re doing work that’s impactful and aids in building a sustainable future for the country. It’s also a wonderful challenge to have your brain constantly working, adapting, evolving.”
Abdulelah AlBarrak is an alumnus of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering. Additionally, he has completed an executive education program at INSEAD in Business Strategy.
