National Employment Program of Oman partners with Baker Tilly
The National Employment Program of Oman has selected Baker Tilly as its partner for education and training services.
Launched by the government of Oman in 2021, the National Employment Program aims (NEP) to provide Omani talent with the knowledge and skills needed to participate in the labour market, in both the public and private sectors. The program is part of the labour market and human capital pillars of Oman Vision 2040.
Working together with Baker Tilly, the NEP will design and develop a set of scientific training courses on topics such as planning, human resources and self-employment, as well as educational and scientific books.
The training courses and deliverables developed by Baker Tilly will be made available on the vocational skills platform of the National Employment Program.
The memorandum of cooperation was signed by Khalid bin Salem Al-Ghamari (National Employment Program) and Abbas Al Humaid (Baker Tilly).
Al-Ghamari confirmed that the collaboration builds on the program’s capacity-building track, which seeks to qualify and develop Omani youth, and link them to the Omani labour market through technical and vocational education and also provide them with future-proof skills.
In July this year, the National Employment Program will launch a new platform named Khuta that will help job seekers find and match with employment opportunities available in the market. The platform is meant for students, job-seekers, employees, business owners, entrepreneurs, teachers, academics and guardians of students.
The National Employment Program will simultaneously also launch a career guidance initiative, which will assist individuals in making more informed academic and professional decisions.
