Outsized, a talent on demand platform for independent professionals, has appointed Srikant Krishnan as its new leader for the MENA region.

With teams based in South Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and India, Outsized is one of the larger platforms for hiring independent consultants outside of the Western markets. The platform matches both enterprise clients and consulting firms with independent professionals.

As part of a broader round of executive promotions in multiple countries, Srikant Krishnan has been selected as Regional Lead for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Krishnan has around a dozen years of experience in scaling businesses across India and Middle East. He most recently worked for UberEats, where he as Head of Partnerships and Monetization helped scale the number of retail merchants in Dubai for the grocery marketplace (including the largest supermarkets in the region).

Before that, Krishnan worked for Careem and Uber, responsible for expanding the fleet sales organisation in India. Before that, he worked in the sales teams of other start-ups and scale-ups in India.

In his role at Outsized, Krishnan will aim to expand the company’s footprint in the region, especially in key geographies such as the UAE and KSA, and into new sectors including energy, retail, and healthcare.

Niclas Thelander, Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Outsized, said the appointment of Krishnan comes at an exciting time for the firm in the region. “According to our latest Talent on Demand report, major companies across the MENA are increasingly adopting agile workforce models to quickly respond to market demands.”

Other platforms for independent consultants active in the Middle East include Malt, Catalant, Consultport, Toptal, and homegrown players such as Makeen Advisors.
