Consumer electronics giant OPPO appoints Jummar in KSA
Chinese electronics manufacturer OPPO has selected Jummar as its public relations and communications consultancy for the Saudi market.
Established in Guangdong province in 2004, OPPO manufactures microelectronics, smartphones & devices, sound devices, power banks, and other electronic products. Today, the company has around 40,000 staff and sells its products worldwide.
Among the general public, OPPO is best known for its smartphone products, including the Find and Reno series, and tablets (Pad Neo series).
Working together with Jummar, OPPO aims to expand its presence in Saudi Arabia, which the Chinese company describes as a major growth market in the region and globally.
“Saudi Arabia is one of the most exciting technology and innovation hubs in the Middle East today,” said Chi Zhou, President of OPPO in the Middle East & Africa. “The country’s young and tech-savvy population are trendsetters when it comes to the adoption of new products, services and applications.”
The KSA market is also a mature one, with penetration for mobile phones and the use of the internet now at close to 100% among families in Saudi Arabia, according to data from the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Beyond the smartphone segment, where OPPO competes with the likes of Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi, Saudi Arabia is also seeing strong growth in consumer demand for other segments where the Chinese company is active in, on the back of burgeoning economic growth.
Riyadh-based Jummar will support OPPO with services including corporate communications, content creation, public relations, and media engagement.
Founded in 2021 by Ibrahim Al-Mutawa, a former Vice President at ASDA'A (part of global player Burson Cohn & Wolfe), Jummar is a member of PROI Worldwide.
