The Middle East’s consulting industry has welcomed a new player: Lopez Khoury & Associates, launched by former Big Four consultant Wael Khoury.

Congratulations on the launch of Lopez Khoury & Associates. What motivated the move to launch your own business?

The desire to start my own consultancy firm has been with me for a while, and now felt like the right time for me personally to start Lopez Khoury & Associates.

It all started with my desire to use my extensive HR experience to make a greater impact through a different approach than your traditional consultancies. Throughout my career, I've held leadership roles in various industries, giving me a unique perspective on challenges, opportunities and solutions.

By founding my consulting firm, I aim to offer customized solutions that help companies get the best out of their people through leading practice programs to achieve sustainable growth. Moreover, this step allows me to follow my passion for mentoring and nurturing future HR leaders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

You’ve over the course of your career gained extensive HR experience in both consulting and industry. What are some of the highlights you bring to the venture?

Throughout my career, I have accumulated a wealth of experience in both consulting and industry, which I am excited to bring to Lopez Khoury & Associates. One of the key highlights of my journey has been my role in strategic HR leadership. I have had the privilege of leading HR departments in multinational corporations, where I developed and implemented initiatives that not only aligned with business objectives but also significantly enhanced organizational performance.

Another highlight has been my work in talent management. I have managed programs that attract and retain top-tier talent, ensuring that the organizations I’ve worked with have the human capital needed to achieve their goals.

Additionally, I have had many opportunities to lead change management programs. I have spearheaded major projects, including mergers, acquisitions, and organizational restructures, helping companies navigate these transitions smoothly while maintaining high levels of employee engagement.

Championing diversity and inclusion has also been a passion of mine. I have led initiatives that foster inclusive workplace cultures, resulting in increased innovation, employee satisfaction, and overall performance. On the technological front, I have been at the forefront of deploying advanced HR technology solutions. These implementations have streamlined HR processes, improved data analytics, and enhanced decision-making capabilities within the organizations I’ve worked with.

Lastly, my consulting expertise has allowed me to provide tailored HR solutions to a variety of clients across different industries. This experience has given me a broad skill set and a deep understanding of both the strategic and operational aspects of the human resources field.

As a boutique firm, Lopez Khoury & Associates has to specialize in a number of areas. What are the key areas of focus?

We offer a wide range of services designed to meet the diverse needs of our clients. Our offerings include HR capability maturity assessments, organizational structure optimization, digital HR transformation, leadership development, executive and team coaching, corporate culture and engagement initiatives, HR strategy articulation, change management, HR infrastructure development, and talent management.

This list is not exhaustive, and we tailor our solutions to address the unique challenges faced by each client.

Lopez Khoury & Associates has hit the ground running. What can you share with us?

Indeed, we’re currently working on many exciting activities and initiatives. We have already partnered with several organizations to help them develop their HR strategies and build their people capabilities. We ae also working on several exciting projects, involving HR transformation, corporate culture, employee engagement, change management, and leadership that aim to make a significant impact on our clients.

The momentum we’ve built in these early stages is strong, and we’re eager to continue making a positive impact for our clients.  We have also moved into our new offices in Tornado Tower in West Bay Doha.
