Nav Bahl joins Baker Tilly's Middle East team as senior partner
Baker Tilly JFC has welcomed former global KPMG executive Nav Bahl to its partnership in the Middle East.
Appointed a senior partner, Nav Bahl brings over 30 years of experience in consulting and industry roles to Baker Tilly JFC, the network’s member firm in the Middle East and beyond.
Bahl becomes part of the Technology practice and Middle East leadership team, and will head the Baker Tilly Digital offering in the region.
“We are delighted to welcome Nav to our team,” said Mago Singh, Managing Partner of Baker Tilly in the Middle East & Africa. “He is one of the most decorated technology consulting professionals in industry. He will undoubtedly help us expand our presence in the technology consulting landscape, as we meet growing demand for our digital services.”
After starting his career in the UK’s Ministry of Defence, where he spent a decade in various functions, Bahl created a cyber start-up that later on was acquired by HP. During his time with Cisco and British Telecom, he was part of the team that led the roll-out of UK’s internet and broadband infrastructure.
In 2001, Bahl joined KPMG, where he grew the ranks to become partner in the IT Advisory practice and eventually became Global COO of the unit, which at that time had over 7,500 technology practitioners and revenues in excess of $1 billion. In the role, Bahl helped KPMG build global capabilities for digital, data, cyber and cloud, among others, and spearheaded the establishment of technology delivery centres around the world.
Working in the energy sector within KPMG, Bahl in 2013 was snapped up by one of his clients, Petrofac, a multinational oil & gas giant where he was installed as Chief Information Officer (CIO). At Petrofac, he transformed a federated IT function with circa 500 staff into a centralised operation, and led one of the (back then) largest public cloud migrations in the Middle East.
Prior to Baker Tilly, Bahl has been running his own technology consulting practice between the UK and Middle East. Some of his recent projects include being an expert technology advisor to the UK’s national lottery as part of the recent £150 billion license award, and working for renewable energy construction companies such as Lamprell (UAE) and Venterra (UK) to drive their IT transformation agenda.
