Dmitry Naberezhnev joins Kearney as partner in Doha office
Kearney has strengthened its senior team in the Middle East with Dmitry Naberezhnev, who brings over 15 years of strategic consulting experience to the firm.
Appointed a partner in the Energy and Process Industries practice, Dmitry Naberezhnev helps both private and state-owned energy companies (oil & gas, refining and petrochemicals, nuclear, renewables, and utilities) across the Middle East and Africa.
The Doha-based partner specialises in topics including strategy mergers & acquisitions, performance improvement, reorganizations, and production excellence.
Naberezhnev joined Kearney from Bain & Company, where he spent 16 years, latterly in the role of partner. At the firm, he worked with clients in Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Middle East across a variety of industries.
One recent engagement saw Naberezhnev work with a nuclear energy client to help the company diversify beyond its core business of power generation into new areas such as nuclear medicine.
In addition to his energy and manufacturing focus, his industry expertise spans railway transport, petrochemicals, nuclear, high-tech, agriculture and fertilizers, private equity, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
Asked why he decided to remain active within the world of strategy consulting (as opposed to a consulting-exit), Naberezhnev said: “I love to solve complex problems. And in consulting, that is coupled with the satisfaction of helping companies transform.”
“And while consulting without a doubt is a very demanding job, we have flexibility that corporates don’t have. At the partner level, you have to win business, but you then decide on the terms and people and such, which I like,” he says. “I also appreciate the frequent changes from topic to topic; we’re always learning new things. And between our clients and our colleagues, we work with great people.”
Earlier in his career, Naberezhnev spent years working at the US Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory. He hold a master’s degree and an MBA from INSEAD.
