Baker Tilly JFC enters into joint venture with Central Africa member firm

Baker Tilly’s member firm in the Middle East, Baker Tilly JFC, has entered into a joint venture with one of the network’s larger member firms in Africa with the ambition to strengthen its capabilities and extend its coverage into new markets.

Headquartered in Dubai, Baker Tilly JFC has around 50 offices across the Middle East region, mainly in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Qatar. As part of its growth ambition, Baker Tilly JFC is growing its footprint in the region, and when opportunities arise, also beyond.

This has seen the UAE-based firm sign a joint venture agreement with Baker Tilly Central Africa, which spans the network’s member firms in Zimbabwe (main office: Harare), Zambia (Kabulonga), Botswana (Gaborone) and Malawi (Blantyre).

Led by CEO Courage Matsa, Baker Tilly Central Africa has a team of around 20 partners and directors, and dozens of employees according to LinkedIn data.

Mago JB Singh, Managing Partner of Baker Tilly JFC, said that the joint venture will strengthen Baker Tilly in two ways. For clients in Central Africa, especially those seeking services outside of traditional the audit and accounting domain, they will now be able to gain access to the expertise of Baker Tilly JFC, which has more than 500 staff.

Examples of services that will be supported by Baker Tilly JFC include strategy, business transformation, mergers & acquisitions, initial public offerings, corporate finance, restructuring, digital transformation, and technology services.

Meanwhile, for Baker Tilly JFC, the expanded coverage will open up new opportunities for its clients in the Middle East also serving the African market. “Together, we will make a big contribution to our clients and support businesses and the governments in both regions, besides helping our global Baker Tilly network to rise to the new heights,” said Singh.
