Baker Tilly JFC has bolstered its senior leadership team in the Middle East with the arrival of Stefan El-Khouri, who brings over 20 years of expertise in tax matters to the firm.

Based out of Baker Tilly’s Dubai office, Stefan El-Khouri is a member of the Tax practice, specializing in transfer pricing advisory services to clients across the region.

A lawyer by background, El-Khouri has been working in tax advisory since the turn of the century, establishing himself as one of the leading figures in the Middle East’s transfer pricing scene. He has advised numerous clients on planning, implementing, and defending their transfer pricing systems and has also provided guidance to tax authorities, including a key role in advising the Egyptian tax authorities on benchmarking.

Before joining Baker Tilly JFC, El-Khouri was a partner at KPMG in Saudi Arabia, where he served as Head of International Tax and Transfer Pricing and previously led the Transfer Pricing practice in Saudi and the Levant region. He also was a member of KPMG’s Global Tax policy team, delivering awareness sessions, technical training, and impact assessments.

Earlier, he spent over a dozen years at PwC and Deloitte. Throughout his tenure at the Big Four firms, he advised multinational groups, mid-market businesses and government stakeholders, and delivered projects in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

A thought leader in tax, El-Khouri has published several publications and spoken at numerous events on transfer pricing, tax, and tax technology. In Lebanon, he spent years as a part-time lecturer at the University Saint Joseph while mentoring start-up projects at Ecole Superior Affairs.

Now at Baker Tilly JFC, El-Khouri will leverage his experience to help the accounting and consulting firm grow its Tax business. He becomes the fifth partner in the service line.

“We are thrilled to have Stefan join our Tax team,” said Mago Singh, Managing Partner of Baker Tilly in the Middle East & Africa. “He will continue to be a focal point for large and multinational clients, and play a key role in our growth ambition in the taxation landscape.”
