Global consulting firm Berkeley Research Group (BRG) has strengthened its Construction practice in the Middle East with the hire of three senior members.
Appointed managing directors, Aidan Coyne, John Fletcher and Sharon McGahey bring over 70 years of combined experience in the construction and contracting industry to the firm’s Dubai office. All three cross from Kroll, and specialise in dispute resolution and project advisory services.
Aidan Coyne has over 20 years of experience as a construction project manager and delay analyst, with a track record of delivering construction and oil & gas projects in Europe and the Middle East. He has vast experience in residential, commercial, industrial, leisure and retail building projects from project initiation to management of final turn-key finishes and final handover.
Coyne is also experienced in delay and programming dispute matters and provides independent expert witness opinion in formal and non-formal matters.
“Joining Berkeley Research Group is an exciting step for me at this stage of my career. The firm has ambitious plans in the Middle East and beyond,” said Coyne. “I look forward to serving both existing and new clients in the construction disputes market and to working alongside BRG’s highly regarded construction expert services practice.”
John Fletcher has over 20 years of experience in the design, construction, analysis and management of projects in Australia, Europe and the Middle East. He has consulted for major international corporations spanning the infrastructure, buildings, water, rail and oil & gas sectors. He is also an expert in the forensic analysis of delay, having been appointed as an independent expert on programming and delay matters in numerous countries.
Fletcher stated: “I’m delighted to join BRG at such an exciting time and be a part of the firm’s growth story. The opportunity to collaborate with familiar faces and contribute to building a powerhouse expert services offering is really motivating. Our combined experience in the construction and delay space greatly compliments BRG’s offering, and I look forward to providing excellent service to our clients.”
Sharon McGahey has over two decades of experience within the contracting and consultancy industry. She has significant experience in the analysis of delays in construction and has provided expert advice on a range of disputes involving issues of delay, disruption, acceleration and project manager performance. She has been involved in some of the largest and most complex disputes around the world.
“I’m thrilled to have joined such an innovative and dynamic organisation. Its commitment to growth and market leadership aligns with our focus and goals,” said McGahey. “I look forward to working with the impressive team as we grow our collective practices and continue to deliver exceptional value to our clients.”
