Talal Omar Bahafi to lead WTW’s new KSA insurance broking business
Willis Towers Watson has appointed a new Head of Insurance Broking for Saudi Arabia: Talal Omar Bahafi.
The new practice leader brings extensive experience in the insurance industry with him to Willis Towers Watson (WTW), a global player in the landscape with a presence in 140+ countries.
Talal previously served as Chief Executive Officer at Chubb Arabia, one of the larger multi-line property and casualty insurers operating in Saudi Arabia. Prior to Chubb, Talal worked at Marsh McLennan where he was responsible for delivering the company’s overall market strategy for the Kingdom.
Commenting on his new role, Talal said: “I am delighted to be joining WTW and leading the firm in the Kingdom at such an exciting time as it moves towards achieving its goals. I look forward to driving growth, supporting our clients, and contributing to the development of innovative solutions that align with the Vision 2030 objectives. Together, we will continue to deliver value to our clients and build upon WTW’s reputation for excellence.”
The arrival of Talal comes hot on the heels of WTW securing an insurance licence to act as an insurance broker in Saudi Arabia, meaning the consulting firm can now not only advise on insurance strategies and change programs, but also serve as an intermediary behalf of clients.
“Securing our insurance broker licence for Saudi Arabia further strengthens our global network,” said Pamela Thomson-Hall, Head of International at WTW. “We are delighted to have Talal on board to drive growth opportunities in this exciting market. Today’s announcement is a continuation of our growth strategy to bring global insights to clients around the world through our teams of deep specialists.”
Eleni Lykoudi, Head of Head of Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa at WTW, added: “This is a significant development in WTW’s ambitions for growth in the Middle East. We are delighted to have Talal in place to support our clients’ needs across the region.”
