KPMG hosts 24th edition of IFRS knowledge event in Qatar

Held for the 24th year in a row, KPMG’s annual IFRS Update Workshop brought together over 230 attendees from organizations of all shapes and sizes to discuss the latest developments in the IFRS financial reporting landscape.

Held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Doha, the event saw representatives from Qatar-listed companies, local and multinational banks, regulatory authorities and private sector entities learn from leaders in the industry, and collaborate and network with like-minded peers.

The workshop was led by Charles Batchelor, partner in KPMG’s Advisory business and a seasoned expert in IFRS. He provided an in-depth exploration of critical updates and insights, covering key IFRS updates, including IASB amendments, ISSB developments. Specialized topics such as ESG reporting, sustainability standards, and practical implications of financial reporting were also addressed.

Reflecting on the day, Gopal Balasubramaniam, partner at KPMG and Head of Audit for Qatar, stated: “This workshop represents KPMG’s dedication to equipping finance professionals with the tools and knowledge necessary to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of IFRS standards.
