Turner & Townsend lands in Egypt with acquisition of ValueMetric Consultants
Global professional services company Turner & Townsend has acquired ValueMetric Consultants, an Egyptian consultancy firm specialized in the construction sector.
Founded in Cairo, ValueMetric Consultants is a privately-owned consultancy with a track record of delivering cost and commercial advisory services in Egypt’s built environment. The consulting firm works for clients in the construction, property development and infrastructure sectors, with its portfolio spanning projects across Greater Cairo, the North Coast, the Nile Delta and the Red Sea region.
As part of the deal, the 20-strong team of ValueMetric Consultants will become part of Turner & Townsend, which marks the firm’s entry in the Egyptian market.
“This acquisition marks an exciting milestone as we expand our cost and commercial management offering into Egypt, a market full of opportunity and potential,” said Alan Talabani, Regional Managing Director for the Middle East.
“The addition of ValueMetric Consultants establishes a robust cost and commercial advisory offering in Egypt and strengthens our team in the Middle East.”
Following the recent addition of CBRE’s Project Management business, Turner & Townsend has over 22,000 people around the world. The UK-headquartered company has operations in 60+ countries, with its Middle East arm comprising over 1,000 staff in several countries. In 2024, Turner & Townsend was named one of the region’s leading consulting firms in the construction sector.
“As investment continues to accelerate across key real estate sectors in the Middle East, this move allows us to strengthen our presence in North Africa and enhance the support we provide our clients across the region,” said Talabani.
Ayman El-Ghazzawi, Managing Director of ValueMetric Consultants, has been appointed as Country Manager for Egypt, reporting to Talabani. The appointment sees him come full circle – he previously worked in the company’s UK business.
