IBM Consulting brings Hani Diya on board to lead Qatar business

IBM Consulting has appointed Hani Diya as its new Country Leader for Qatar. He joins Big Blue with extensive leadership and commercial experience.

Hani Diya brings two decades of experience in leadership, sales, digital transformation, and emerging technologies to IBM Consulting – one of the region’s leading technology consultancies.

In his most recent role at SAP, he was Senior Regional Sales Manager, leading a team of sales professionals covering Qatar and Oman. Diya also advised SAP clients on how they can leverage the technology to drive business automation, enhance decision-making, and accelerate their digital transformation journeys, and with implementation planning to ensure that ERP technology successfully integrates within operations.

Earlier, he held a similar role at Oracle, another ERP giant. “During these roles, I’ve partnered with CxO-level executives to align technology solutions with their mission-critical priorities, ensuring businesses stay competitive in an increasingly digital and AI-driven world,” he stated on his LinkedIn account.

Diya also gained experience as an entrepreneur: based out of Beirut, he co-founded and led two entrepreneurial ventures, Green Gateways and Cyvys, focused on addressing the fast-evolving cybersecurity needs of enterprises in the Middle East. “My entrepreneurial ventures deepened my expertise in cybersecurity by launching the region’s first bug bounty platform, helping companies proactively identify vulnerabilities and leverage AI-powered threat intelligence.”

Now at IBM Consulting, he has been tasked with expanding the company’s footprint in the Qatari market.

“I am excited to welcome Hani to our leadership team,” said Lula Mohanty, Managing Partner for the Middle East and Africa at IBM Consulting. “With leadership roles at several global technology companies, he has helped clients across the Gulf region drive innovation and align tech with business strategy. He will lead our strategy in Qatar, partnering with clients to accelerate digital transformation and support national ambitions.”

In 2024, IBM Consulting inaugurated a new office in Doha to accommodate its growth as well as future ambitions in the country.
