NorthStar Insights launches Political, Policy and Regulatory due diligence offering

NorthStar Insights, a political risk and communications consultancy, has expanded its suite of offerings with a Political, Policy and Regulatory due diligence offering.

The new arm of the Dubai-headquartered firm is designed to help investors – private equity funds and family offices – conduct due diligence on their deals and financial transactions across the MENA region.

Arth Malani, Founder and CEO of NorthStar Insights, said that with record flows of capital entering the region, ensuring that these investments are well-vetted is a critical step in the pre-deal process.

The firm’s new offering provides in-depth insight into how government decisions, legislation and regulatory frameworks could affect a company, investment or transaction. It evaluates risks such as policy changes, licensing requirements, political stability, stakeholder influence and regulatory compliance to determine how the external political environment may impact business outcomes.

According to Malani, the new service addresses a ‘critical need’ in the market, as this type of due diligence is often inaccessible to many investors due to its high cost, despite political, policy and regulatory considerations being especially significant in the Middle East.

“For too long, investors in the MENA region have had two options: pay a premium for a Western-headquartered advisory firm that often charge premium fees, or go without proper political, regulatory and policy due diligence altogether. We’re offering a third option, a new option, expert-led, regionally grounded due diligence from a consultancy that was built for these markets from day one, without the inflated fees attached to legacy firms.”

Founded in June 2025, NorthStar Insights has grown rapidly to a team of 13 consultants operating across 7 countries in MENA and APAC, advising clients on political risk, strategic communications and government affairs. “We bring deep regional knowledge to political and regulatory risk assessment at a price point that reflects the boutique model –and not Big Four overheads.”
