Visit Oman partners with Savills and Hospiria to launch licensed short stay services

Visit Oman has partnered with global real estate consultancy Savills and UK-based Hospiria to launch licensed short-term rentals in Oman.

The partnership aims to deliver a regulated short-stay offering for (international) visitors, while enabling property owners to unlock value from their assets. Under the agreement, Visit Oman will remain the brand and customer-facing entity, Hospiria will provide technology and guest management expertise, and Savills will lead on-the-ground operational delivery, owner engagement and local property management.

“This three-way collaboration brings together Visit Oman’s destination expertise, the technology and hospitality leadership of Hospiria, and the operational real estate strength of Savills to drive the growth and professionalisation of the short-term rental sector in Oman,” commented Ihsan Kharouf, Head of Oman at Savills.

Shabib Almaamari, Managing Director at Visit Oman, commented: “This initiative aims to utilise digital innovation to diversify our tourism economy – one of the key pillars of Oman Vision 2040.”

According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information, Oman’s tourism sector increased its contribution to the national economy by more than 3% in 2024, reaching OMR 2.12 billion. Government figures show that between January and September 2025, hotel stays rose by 9% year-on-year to 1.7 million guests, while hotel revenues increased by 18% to over OMR 192 million.

While much of the tourism focus is on hotels, short-term rentals are an integral part of the accommodation portfolio.

“The introduction of this licensed service will broaden the accommodation options available to tourists and short-term visitors, catering to a variety of budgets. At the same time, participating property owners will be able to generate returns from their assets, creating benefits on both sides of the market,” explained Almaamari.

By putting a regulated framework in place, Oman seeks to ensure a safe and trusted environment for tourists and property owners. This is where the Hospiria comes in – its platform ensures the market is transparent, regulatory compliance is met, and the ecosystem operates at the highest international standards.
